Save The Date: Vote Joe Kubit FOR JUDGE on Tuesday November 2nd
Kubit, 58, has been a partner with Montgomery, Crissman, Kubit, LLP in Butler since 1998. Prior to being made a partner, he was an associate attorney at the firm since 1992.
“I am fortunate to have learned litigation skills and how to practice law from skillful, ethical and highly respected attorneys,” said Kubit.
In addition, Kubit also served as a judicial clerk for the late Honorable Zoran Popovich of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania from 1991-92.
“I believe I can benefit the citizens of Butler County by using this knowledge to assist them in resolving matters that will come before me as a judge in a fair, orderly, and timely manner.”
Kubit’s role models certainly emphasized the importance of fairness. His parents, Joseph C. and Ann P. Kubit, killed in a car accident in October 1973, stressed “being honest and considerate of others.” So did his grandparents, the late Joseph and Sophie Kubit, who became his guardians and raised him.
“They taught me to be respectful toward others,” Kubit said. “They also taught me the value of hard work and to do the best I can in carrying out any job I perform.”
Kubit’s path to the legal profession started at Butler County Community College where he earned an Associate in Science degree in 1984. From BC3, he transferred to the University of Pittsburgh, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1987. In 1990 Kubit was awarded a Juris Doctor from Pitt.
“I have always enjoyed working with and helping people,” Kubit said. “Because of the complexity of the legal process, it is often difficult for folks to navigate the system. It can be expensive and time consuming. Legal issues can change a person’s life dramatically. Some can literally turn a family’s life upside down. It is deeply rewarding to assist someone who is unable to help themselves through a legal challenge.”
“I believed that by becoming an attorney, I would be able to work alongside my clients during difficult times in their lives and help them through the legal challenges they face.”
Kubit is a past president of the Butler County Bar Association. He holds an AV-“Preeminent” Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has received the Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Award and has a 10.0 AVVO
“My favorite part of my job is knowing that my client has entrusted me to handle his or her problem and then helping them through it,” said Kubit. In addition to his practice, Joe also serves as chairman of the board of trustees of BC3; and he is on the board of directors of Future Forward Churches, LLC and the Passavant Development Corporation.
“Being a judge is a tremendous responsibility,” Kubit said. “I look forward to approaching my duties as a judge in a respectful and conscientious manner, knowing that the lives of the individuals and families will be affected by my decisions. I will strive to serve them fairly and honorably. If elected, I will carry out this responsibility dutifully.”
Kubit, a Cabot resident, has been married to his wife, Susan, for 20 years. Their daughter, Julie, is a senior at Knoch High School. Kubit also graduated from Knoch in 1981.
